ABOUT US

Our Heart

Eternity Church exists to gather, equip and release people as effective disciples of Christ in Christian ministry so as to contribute to the fulfilment of the Great Commission. We believe God loves everyone and shows this best through his son Jesus and the community of believers (the Church). Eternity Church is a Jesus centred, community focused Canberra Church. We do our best to live and share God’s purpose in everything we do.

Our Team

Mark Raymond

Mark Raymond

Historically, Mark was the youth minister in this congregation and the National Youth Director for the Apostolic Church. A decade ago he and Deb followed the call of God to the UK, where they founded a thriving church in Surrey, just outside of London. In early 2011 they returned to Canberra and are now leading this church into a new stage of its journey. Mark loves a coffee or two and is highly focussed on seeing a church emerge that helps people make sense of their faith journey, as well as be a powerful force for good in our community.

Deb Raymond Senior Minister Eternity Church Canberra

Deb Raymond

Historically, Deb was the Kids Minister in this congregation. When in London, she trained with the Royal Academy of Dance and is a Dance Teacher when not doing church stuff. Deb is high energy, she loves a laugh, and is keen to see a church develop that sees our faith journey have as many laughs along the way. Boring is banned. This is awesome as her focus is on seeing our church community be as genuine and as authentic as possible, where we do life together. She is also overseeing the Kids Ministry.

Nicky Link

Historically, Nicky was on staff doing youth ministry in this congregation. In 2000 he and Holly followed the call of God to Darwin, where they were the Ministers of Abundant Life Christian Church; our Darwin congregation. In early 2013 they have returned to Canberra to help see this congregation embrace its call. Nicky’s primary message is “Love God, love others and love life” and is a gifted teacher who’s primary focus is on empowering Christians to not just have faith, but have a practical faith that is a blessing to all they are in contact with.

Holly Link

A decade ago, Holly followed the call of God to Darwin, where with Nicky she saw the transformation of our Darwin congregation, running music, womens and our main services. Holly is a mum of three unbelievably cute kids (honestly…just ask their grandma), she is a fantastic singer/songwriter and is currently helping the 20’s age bracket in our congregation gather and develop into a fantastic community which supports and encourages each other in life.

Mason Hudson

Historically, Mason was a part of the Bendigo Apostolic Church’s youth team. Mason joined the Canberra staff in late 2012 to focus on gathering and developing the teenagers in our congregation. Mason is a passionate man of faith, is an amazing communicator, and is pretty good on a basketball court. Always up for a laugh and a bit of fun, Mason is always keen to grab a Zambrero’s burrito with you… even more so if you are paying!

Chris Van Der Wielen

Chris is currently studying at the ANU School of Music, and has joined the church team from the Port Macquarie Apostolic Church. Chris is an amazing musician, gifted worship leader, and has an incredible passion to help all Christians step into higher levels of worship. A really down to earth, relaxed guy, Chris is always keen for grabbing a meal where you can chat, laugh and be inspired. (But you’ll have to shout as he is a broke student!)

Samantha Eagar

Sam is a Canberra native and then felt she should move to the UK – after a diversion to bible college in Sydney. Randomly, she ended up on staff at the church Mark and Deb founded – just after they left to return to Australia. Sensing it was time to return to Canberra, Sam returned in late 2012. A great organiser, she is helping us transition to multiple services and is developing the volunteer staffing of our internal activities. Sam loves a coffee and chat, and is keen to see a church develop that is relaxed where all feel they are valued, belong and are included.
